In Humanities subjects, we value the foundational knowledge that students develop in History, Geography, Business, Legal Studies and Economics. We prepare students to understand the past, be active citizens in the present and to leave a legacy for the future. Students belong in our Humanities classrooms because they investigate human nature and learn about the making of our nation. They understand how to best protect our planet, as well as how to be economically active and law-abiding citizens. Students are challenged to be actively involved in their learning through case studies, field reports, historical investigations and excursions.
In Humanities we believe that Lakes Learners are Future change-makers, entrepreneurs, law makers and global citizens who can think outside the box. Our aim in Humanities is to create students who believe that they will become individuals who can be critical and creative thinkers, who want to be lifelong learners, and who use their knowledge and skills to make a difference.
